HOW IT WORKS

Photochromic lenses automatically adjust their tint level based on sunlight exposure. They darken in bright sunlight and return to a clear or lightly tinted state in low-light conditions.

The visors contain special molecules that react to UV light. When exposed to sunlight, they change their molecular structure, causing the visor to darken. In the absence of UV light, the visor returns to its original state.

The lifespan depends on use and care. While proper maintenance can extend its performance, the chemical reaction that enables the tinting will naturally fade over time, typically after 1-2 years.

Regulations vary by location. Ensure the photochromic visor meets your local legal requirements for motorcycle helmets.

The transition time varies based on the UV intensity. On average, the visor darkens within 10-30 seconds and clears within 30 seconds to 1 minute when moving to a low-light environment.

Photochromic lens for the Shoei Neotech 3

I haven’t had a chance to see how the visor reacts to sun yet. I can however say that the visor is extremely tight and appears to be off a bit in its form/fit for the Neotech 3. There are some small gaps around the gasket that make me wonder about water getting in during rain. The clarity is spot on and The packaging was good too. Shipping was relatively fast. One more thing to mention is that I ordered the Pin-Lock type anti fog lens and it came installed on the shield. That’s a plus for customer support. I’ll re-submit my review after a good test on the photochromic properties, and whether the shield starts to conform to the helmet.

SHOEI Neotec 3

Only used it a couple of times but it does what it says on the tin. Really good fit, haven’t used it in the wet yet, the original leaked like a sieve. But looking at it it will be fine.

Just what i was looking for.

Please don't judge the four star review i will explain.

This was just the thing i was looking for, been watching the website waiting for the release of this visor to fit the Shoei Neotec 3, so now that I've had the chance to get out on the bike with it fitted I have now replied to the email asking for a review.
Quick delivery and well packaged.
Fitted easily and seems to seal well, not been out in rain.... yet !!

It transitions to dark fairly quickly but seems to take noticably longer to return to clear, not ideal if entering a tunnel for example, it is goes dark enough for me and I can live with the small distortions in the field of vision towards the edges, looking ahead is fine. main reason for the 4 stars is this, when fully open the upper locating lugs on the visor I have tend to 'pop' out of the channels that hold them in place, when comparing it to the original visor the ones on this one look to be very slightly shorter, I don't often open the visor on the move , if in town or low speed I tend to open the helmet, so its something that I can live with...
