HOW IT WORKS
Photochromic lenses automatically adjust their tint level based on sunlight exposure. They darken in bright sunlight and return to a clear or lightly tinted state in low-light conditions.
The visors contain special molecules that react to UV light. When exposed to sunlight, they change their molecular structure, causing the visor to darken. In the absence of UV light, the visor returns to its original state.
The lifespan depends on use and care. While proper maintenance can extend its performance, the chemical reaction that enables the tinting will naturally fade over time, typically after 1-2 years.
Regulations vary by location. Ensure the photochromic visor meets your local legal requirements for motorcycle helmets.
The transition time varies based on the UV intensity. On average, the visor darkens within 10-30 seconds and clears within 30 seconds to 1 minute when moving to a low-light environment.
We do not guarantee compatibility with OEM anti-fog films. If you need an anti-fog solution, we offer compatible anti-fog films that are designed to work seamlessly with our visors.
Got it for my Shoei Hornet X2 and really love the red mirror look and it also still being a transition visor. My main gripe is that it feels a little flimsier than the original Shoei visor and it flexes excessively when closing, often not closing all the way and I have to push it down the remaining detent from the top. This gripe is ultimately just an annoying change to muscle memory and the visor looks and functions just how I wanted so I'm overall quite happy with what I got!
I just received my visor. It looks amazing installed on my helmet. The fit was perfect. I will definitely order another one in a different color when I want to change color
